FDT/DTM technology from KW-Software

FDT/DTM is a manufacturer-embracing concept which enables parameterization, diagnosis, monitoring and commissioning of field devices provided by different manufacturers using only one software tool.

A modern field device allows parameterization and diagnosis using manufacturer-specific software-tools which have been especially developed for the respective field device. In order to avoid the installation of many specific tools on one PC, field device manufacturers developed the FDT/DTM concept. The abbreviations stand for Field Device Tool / Device Type Manager.
