Beijer Electronics and KW-Software provides two-in-one solution

Why use a separate control system when you can install it in the operator terminal? Beijer Electronics now offers a solution for those who want a combined operator interface and PLC. It is now possible to get any of the operator terminals in the EXTER series from Beijer Electronics with the 61131-3 PLC engine ProConOS from KW-Software integrated.

PLC-engines running on CE-based platforms is nothing new, but it is very important to find the right platform in order to have a reliable solution. The EXTER operator terminals have a powerful and reliable hardware platform that is ready for running a PLC-engine. One important issue is what processor is being used, and another the ability to do back-ups with external memory units.

Both KW-Software and Beijer Electronics take pride in providing reliable and intuitive products. "We chose to work with KW-Software simply because they have the best solution for us" says Tommy Håkansson, Technical Manager at Beijer Electronics.

When using this solution, ProConOS is pre-installed in the operator terminal. The configuration software Information Designer is used to create the terminal application and MULTIPROG from KW-Software is used to program the PLC-engine.
