ABB Automation and Phoenix Contact signed a contract about a longterm strategic cooperation concerning Profinet- and Ethernet-Technology.

The objective of this partnership is to strengthen the position and to further develop Profinet as a global industrial standard within the complementary business areas "Process Automation" (ABB) and "Factory Automation" (Phoenix Contact). In this partnership, Phoenix Contact subsidiary KW-Software will be in charge of the technical integration of the Profinet technology of the Phoenix Contact Group. "This frame agreement is an important milestone for ABB. With Phoenix Contact as a partner we expect excellent opportunities to meet even better current and future customer requirements of coupling intelligent  field devices", says Peter Wendt, chief R&D officer Control Products of ABB Automation.
