  Day of Automation 2007
 

Informative lectures given by experts, interesting exchange of experience with specialists as well the exhibition of the partner companies attracted on 19 September 2007 more than 70 participants to the Day of Automation.

Main topics of this year's event: Profinet, Safety and Motion Control.

Well-known speakers from the industry informed about automation trends and solutions. Robert Wilmes (Phoenix Contact) presented Profinet as the basis for a future-proof automation. Peter Fuchs (KW-Software) explained the way to the Profinet interface. The requirements to software used in safety systems, given by new standards, were revealed by Dr. Peter Wratil (Innotec). Martin Grosser (Lenze Drive Systems) described "Drive-based Safety", the functional safety in drives. Dr. Dieter Scheifele (ISG) gave a lecture on PLCopen - Breaking new grounds with Multiprog. Finally, Thomas Hilkemeier (KW-Software) gave an account on solutions in the field of Safety and Motion Control. The feedback of the professional visitors: "Interesting, informative, lively, diverting and competent".

During breaks, a lively exchange of experience took place between the experts. The stands of the partners ads-tec, Advantech, Hilscher, ISH, Kontron, Phoenix Contact, Spectra and Sütron enjoyed great interest.

A very well attended workshop on "IEC 61131 programming using the Multiprog Suite" was held on 20 September 2007 also in Ludwigsburg. Trainer Götz Jäckel (KW-Software) introduced step by step the standard, technology, architecture of the components and the software handling. Practical exercises on how to work with the Multiprog Suite successfully completed this workshop.
