KW-Software announced it has joined the Wind River Partner Validation Program for the industrial and medical markets. KW-Software will provide its software solutions integrated and validated with the latest releases of Wind River's industry leading operating systems, VxWorks and Wind River Linux.

KW-Software is a specialist in embedding technologies like IEC 61131, Safety and PROFINET into automation controllers and solutions.

As a premium software partner, KW-Software joined the Wind River partner ecosystem with core technologies like runtime systems for safety and non-safety controllers and PROFINET communication. The ProConOS 61131 runtime engine makes a full-featured PLC or DCS out of the customer hardware with VxWorks. The solution offers multitasking and extremely fast code execution by means of machine-code created out of the IE 61131 application. There are versatile debugging and monitoring interfaces. All of the important CPU platforms like X86, ARM, SH, PowerPC and Coldfire are supported. KW-Software's PROFINET IO stack can be used as a PROFINET IO controller and also as a PROFINET IO device. Moreover, the PROFINET IO stack can serve both at the same time via the same Ethernet port, thus enabling direct data exchange between several PROFINET IO controllers. The PROFINET stack's adaptation to VxWorks has been optimized regarding tasks, and message- and event-handling.

Customers benefit from a significantly reduced integration effort, simplified version management and shorter project durations. This leads to cost advantages and accelerated market launch.
