SAFEPROG, the safe IEC 61131 programming system for the creation of safe applications using the programming languages LD and FBD, fulfills the safety requirements via error-detecting features, in particular due to error-detecting features in the safety-relevant editors and configuration dialogs. Via documented interfaces, manufacturer- and bus-specific components can easily be integrated into the programming system, without having to modify the kernel system. A safe configuration dialog which can be adapted to any data structures via XML is available for the parameterization of I/O devices. Log mechanisms, user administration and diversified code generation complete the range of safety-focussed functionalities.
