KW Solution Suite: Reuse of automation solutions via functional engineering
The KW-Solution Suite is the realization of KW-Software based on the Suite Builder. The platform enables the application of functional engineering for a modular mechanical engineering. |
| |
|
| |
Condensed competency saves engineering costs and increases quality
With the KW-Solution Suite, the most important tasks like for example PLC programming, bus configuration and visualization are integrated in one platform. Additional software tools can be integrated customer-specifically via the comfortable PlugIn mechanism. |
 |
| |
 |
 |
| |
The KW-Solution Suite consists of:
- The framework application: It enables the user to construct an automation system with the integrated tools (see below).
- Elementary functions for developing a system like: Project Tree, Parameter Grid, Catalog Management, generic 2D Control and Generic Network Editor.

Which tools are already integrated?
For solving the control task, the Framework provides PlugIns, for example for MULTIPROG® (IEC 61131 programming), ProConOS® (IEC 61131 runtime) and the ProVisIT machine visualization. Thanks to the open PlugIn interface, programming and visualization tools of other manufacturers can also be integrated, and they can be combined depending on the application in different machine modules.
For integration of many other tools, for example for the machine documentation, pre-edited PlugIns for Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, Excel or Acrobat Reader are available. |

Definition and enclosure of reusable machine parts
The engineering effort of automation engineering can be significantly reduced in mechanical and system engineering by definition and enclosure of reusable machine parts with the associated automation modules. Until now, the software-technological requirements to put this into practice were missing.
Catalogs: The KW-Solution Suite enables the definition of individual automation components and the standardization through storage in a catalog. Subsequently, an automation module is newly created from individual catalog objects via drag and drop and can be assigned to an independent machine part. This way, more and more standard solutions are created instead of project-specific solutions and the extent of reusability in engineering increases significantly. Catalogs can be downloaded from the Internet or created via the Catalog Editor.
Integrated data management: Following a complete integration of tools into the data model of the platform, relationships can be represented across software limits and applications. All associated software tools are integrated with their data into a standardized interface. The user interface is switched depending on the required engineering tasks. For each engineering task, objects from pre-defined solution catalogs can be used.
The advantage is as follows: The automation engineer can completely concentrate on his actual engineering task. |
