Safety by graded user levels

The PLCopen safety specification defines different user levels. These user levels target to the distinctive experience and responsibility of the user that develops the PLC program. The defined (and thus available) range of standard functions and standard function blocks differs depending on the user level.

The safe software components of KW-Software picture the user levels defined by the PLCopen:

• SAFEPROG at Basic Level
  SAFEPROG with reduced functional range (in combination with SafeOS) is established at the basic level: It allows the configuration of safe devices by connecting certified PLCopen safety function blocks with Boolean functions and basic timers/counters.
• SAFEPROG at Expert Level (Extended Level)
  SAFEPROG (in combination with SafeOS) covers the expert level: It allows the creation of own complex safety logic and the use of certified PLCopen safety blocks.
