EBV Evaluation Board: NIOS II goes .NET
Evaluate ProConOS embedded CLR with one of the world's most versatile embedded processors: NIOS® II. |
| |
|
| |
The hardware platform with NIOS II CPU
The industrial FPGA development board by EBV Elektronik is especially designed for the use of NIOS® II in conjunction with the .NET framework in industrial environments. The DBC2C20 board is equipped with several I/O standards (such as CAN, RS485, 24 V I/O) and thus enables direct connections to the world of automation. Furthermore, the board provides high speed LVDS channels, two Ethernet ports and a USB 2.0 OTG Transceiver. For visualization purposes, an LVDS interface (for directly connecting a TFT), LEDs and a 2-digit seven segment display are available. Memory equipment: 16 MBytes SDRAM, 1 MBytes SRAM, 8 MBytes Flash. |

ProConOS embedded CLR system implemented
Thanks to ProConOS embedded CLR, MULTIPROG and an OPC-Server, the NIOS® II platform represents a modern PLC system that is optimally prepared for today's automation tasks. |

 |
| |
Beneath the IEC programming languages (ST, IL, FBD, LD and SFC), MULTIPROG provides the possibility to integrate function blocks and functions that are written in C#. For that purpose, an Add-In for Visual Studio is available compiling the required MULTIPROG library format from the C# program.
Use the object-oriented features of the .NET language C# to program even the most complex system software components and to integrate them into the embedded CLR application in a very easy way.
Thanks to .NET technology (C#, MSIL/CIL) and the open concept of ProConOS embedded CLR, it is no longer necessary to implement such system software as static firmware. Instead, it can be downloaded to the target together with the PLC application.
