The MultiUser feature is a powerful tool to provide safe access to project source files while several users are working on the same project at the same time. In order to provide a safe and fast development environment for multiple users, the project is saved as server project on a server PC in the network. Each user can create a client project on his local PC for editing.
MULTIPROG® provides all features with which a MultiUser project can be handled promptly and easily. This includes for example the automated creation of server and client projects, their updates, checking in and out of data or inserting or deleting parts of a project.
In order to be able to work on a MultiUser project, the respective nodes in the project tree of the client project must be checked out, which means that no other user has write access for these data any longer. With regard to this, client projects can only be compiled, sent to the hardware and verified in debug mode, if the respective resource is checked out.
