Software solutions up to IEC 61508 (SIL 3)
The development process for software components of the safety technology at KW-Software is certified according to IEC 61508. Thus KW-Software has the know-how and the functional safety management to realize safety-related software for different applications. Software solutions range from simple parameterization of the safety functionality for small controls or drives to freely programmable safety controls for the automotive industry. |

The safety platform of KW-Software: Software for different applications
KW-Software provides solutions for the entire range of safe applications: Starting with small safety controls with only a few safe inputs/outputs up to a complex, safety-relevant system. The safety platform of KW-Software includes the following tools:
- SAFEGRID - the safe device parameterization control for simple machines or drives, certified according to IEC 61508 SIL3.
- SAFECONF - the concept for certification according to IEC 61508 SIL 3 of a safe configuration tool and the safe runtime environment SafeOS are the basis for a simple connection of already certified function blocks.
- SAFEPROG - the safe IEC 61131 programming system - and the safe runtime environment SafeOS have been developed according to strict requirements of the IEC 61508 Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3). With these software components, a programmable safety control can be realized, requiring significantly less effort.

Your safety platform according to the construction kit principle
Ideally, you as manufacturer of safety solutions will create a platform with diversified structure, which can be used for smaller and medium as well as large safety-focused applications. All safe engineering tools of KW-Software - SAFEGRID, SAFECONF and SAFEPROG - as well as the safe runtime system SafeOS, are perfectly coordinated and compatible. For example, SAFEGRID is already integrated into SAFEPROG and SAFEGRID as parameterization component, but can also be reused in your own application.
This product strategy pays off for you, as you develop your hardware platform once and parameterize, configure and program it with the software components of the safety platform of KW-Software. |

Changing safety technology
Today, machines and systems are stuck in a rigid concept of hardware-based safety solutions. By using programmable safety controls, entirely new possibilities become available in this area. The most important advantages are the fast implementation in particular (less cabling), improved error diagnosis and the central programming with certified function blocks.
Acceptance and demand for programmable safety functions increases constantly. However, the development efforts of a safety control are significantly higher compared to a standard product, due to standards and certification. Use of software products which are already certified considerably simplifies realization and certification. |

Flexible automation solutions can be realized
No matter if bus master, drive or I/O terminal, with the safe software components of KW-Software, central as well as distributed safe control concepts can be realized. The safety-relevant components of an automation solution are displayed on diversified processors. The great advantage of this approach is, that independent (reactionless) of the safety control, program changes can be carried out in the non-safe standard PLC program. |

Faster certification of the entire system
By using SAFEGRID, SAFECONF, SAFEPROG and SafeOS, manufacturers of safety controls can focus on the development of the hardware, as all safe tools are already certified according to the strict requirements of IEC 61508 SIL 3 (comparable EN 954 -1 category 4). Only the adaptations of the open interfaces must be re-released. |
